# Jeremy Varon

**Jeremy Peter Varon** (born 1967)[1] is an American historian. He is a professor of history at the [New School for Social Research](/source/New_School_for_Social_Research) and [Eugene Lang College](/source/Eugene_Lang_College).[2] He is the author of the books, *Bringing the War Home: The Weather Underground, the Red Army Faction, and Revolutionary Violence in the Sixties and Seventies* (2004)[3][4][5][6][7] and *The New Life: The Jewish Students of Postwar Germany* (2014).[8][9][10] He cofounded and coedits *The Sixties: A Journal of History, Politics, and Culture*, an [academic journal](/source/Academic_journal) published by [Taylor & Francis](/source/Taylor_%26_Francis).[2]

Varon completed a B.A. in history at [Brown University](/source/Brown_University) in 1989. He earned a M.A. (1995) and Ph.D. (1998) in History at [Cornell University](/source/Cornell_University), under doctoral advisor [Dominick LaCapra](/source/Dominick_LaCapra).[2]

Varon was a historian at [Drew University](/source/Drew_University).[11]
