Also he was a member of [Iran national football team](/source/Iran_national_football_team) in [World Cup 1978](/source/World_Cup_1978). ## Club career Allahverdi started his career playing for [Taj](/source/Taj_SC). There he could win the [Asian Championship Club Tournament in 1970](/source/1970_Asian_Champion_Club_Tournament); he also won the Iranian league in [1971](/source/1970%E2%80%9371_Local_League) as well as the second place in [1974](/source/1973%E2%80%9374_Takht_Jamshid_Cup). After the disastrous 0-6 against [Persepolis F.C.](/source/Persepolis_F.C.) in September 1973, where he was identified as the weakest player of Taj, he was kicked out of the team, so he changed to [Persepolis F.C.](/source/Persepolis_F.C.) in summer 1974.[2] There he could win the [Iranian championship in 1976](/source/1975%E2%80%9376_Takht_Jamshid_Cup) and reach runner-up position in [1975](/source/1974%E2%80%9375_Takht_Jamshid_Cup), in [1977](/source/1976%E2%80%9377_Takht_Jamshid_Cup) and in [1978](/source/1977%E2%80%9378_Takht_Jamshid_Cup). After the [Iranian Revolution](/source/Iranian_Revolution) he remained playing for Persepolis winning the Iranian nationwide tournament [Espandi Cup](/source/1979_Shahid_Espandi_Cup) and the [Tehran Hazfi Cup](/source/Tehran_Hazfi_Cup) in 1979 as well as reaching the runners-up position in [Tehran Province League](/source/Tehran_Province_League) and in [Tehran Hazfi Cup](/source/Tehran_Hazfi_Cup) in 1981. ## International career Allahverdi was a member of the Iranian team competing in the football tournament of the [Olympic Tournament in Munich in 1972](/source/Football_at_the_1972_Summer_Olympics).
