**Jason Edwin Simpson** (born January 25, 1971) is an American [football](/source/American_football) coach who serves as the head football coach for the [UT Martin Skyhawks](/source/UT_Martin_Skyhawks_football).

## Career

He is the head football coach at the [University of Tennessee at Martin](/source/University_of_Tennessee_at_Martin), a position he has held since 2006.[1] He has led the [UT Martin Skyhawks](/source/UT_Martin_Skyhawks_football) to five [Ohio Valley Conference](/source/Ohio_Valley_Conference) championships, in 2006, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

## Personal life

Simpson's son, [Ty Simpson](/source/Ty_Simpson), was a college football quarterback for the [Alabama Crimson Tide](/source/Alabama_Crimson_Tide_football).[2] Ty Simpson now plays for the [Los Angeles Rams](/source/Los_Angeles_Rams) after being drafted 13th in the [2026 NFL draft](/source/2026_NFL_draft).[3] Simpson also has another son, Graham Simpson, who is a high school quarterback for [Westview High School](/source/Westview_High_School_(Tennessee)) in [Martin, Tennessee](/source/Martin%2C_Tennessee).
