# Jason Ankrah

**Jason Ankrah** (born February 26, 1991) is an American former professional [football](/source/Gridiron_football) [linebacker](/source/Linebacker). He played [college football](/source/College_football) at the [University of Nebraska–Lincoln](/source/University_of_Nebraska%E2%80%93Lincoln). He was a member of the [Houston Texans](/source/Houston_Texans), [Tennessee Titans](/source/Tennessee_Titans) and [Ottawa Redblacks](/source/Ottawa_Redblacks).

## Early life

Ankrah played [high school football](/source/High_school_football) at [Quince Orchard High School](/source/Quince_Orchard_High_School) in [Gaithersburg, Maryland](/source/Gaithersburg,_Maryland).[1] He recorded 55 tackles and seven sacks his senior year.[1] The Cougars finished with ten wins and two losses, advancing to the Maryland 4A West Regional Final.[1] He was also named first-team all-state as a senior.[1] He recorded 50 tackles and 5 sacks his junior year.[1] The Cougars finished undefeated with 14 wins and won the class 4A state championship.[1]

## College career

Ankrah played football for the [Nebraska Cornhuskers](/source/Nebraska_Cornhuskers_football) from 2010 to 2013.[1] He was [redshirted](/source/Redshirted) in 2009.[1]

## Professional career

Ankrah was signed by the [Houston Texans](/source/Houston_Texans) on May 16, 2014, after going undrafted in the [2014 NFL draft](/source/2014_NFL_draft).[2] He made his NFL debut on September 14, 2014 against the [Oakland Raiders](/source/Oakland_Raiders), recording one tackle.[3] He was released by the Texans on August 31, 2015.[4]

Ankrah was signed to the [Tennessee Titans](/source/Tennessee_Titans)' practice squad on September 9, 2015.[5]

On January 26, 2017, Ankrah signed with the [Ottawa Redblacks](/source/Ottawa_Redblacks) as a defensive lineman.[6] He played in two games for the Redblacks during the 2017 season.[7] He was released by the team on July 3, 2017.[6]

## Coaching

In 2019, Ankrah became head coach of Central High School in [Schuyler, Nebraska](/source/Schuyler,_Nebraska).[8] In 2023, he became the head coach of [Great Mills High School](/source/Great_Mills_High_School) in [Great Mills, Maryland](/source/Great_Mills,_Maryland).
