Its capital is the village of [Jaru](/source/Jaru%2C_Alborz).[3] ## History In 2010, [Karaj County](/source/Karaj_County) was separated from [Tehran](/source/Tehran_province) province in the establishment of [Alborz](/source/Alborz_province) province.[5] In 2012, [Eshtehard District](/source/Eshtehard_District) was separated from the county in establishing [Eshtehard County](/source/Eshtehard_County), and Jaru Rural District was created in the new [Palangabad District](/source/Palangabad_District).[3] ## Demographics ### Population At the time of the 2016 National Census, the rural district's population was 1,407 in 445 households.
