# Japanese Right Army

The **Japanese Right Army** or **Army of the Right** was an army of Japan during the second wave of [Japanese invasions of Korea](/source/Japanese_invasions_of_Korea_(1592%E2%80%931598)),[1] in the years 1597[1]–1598.[citation needed] It included forces from several divisions of the earlier invasions (1592–1596).[citation needed] Under the overall command of Mori Hidemoto,[1][clarification needed] the Right Army consisted mainly of the former Second Division led by [Katō Kiyomasa](/source/Kat%C5%8D_Kiyomasa), the Third Division led by [Kuroda Nagamasa](/source/Kuroda_Nagamasa) and the Seventh Division led by [Mōri Hidemoto](/source/M%C5%8Dri_Hidemoto), who replaced his cousin [Mōri Terumoto](/source/M%C5%8Dri_Terumoto).[citation needed]

## Organization

The following was the organization of the Right Army as of September 1597:[1]

- [Kuroda Nagamasa](/source/Kuroda_Nagamasa) (黒田長政) – 5,000 men[1]
- [Nabeshima Naoshige](/source/Nabeshima_Naoshige) (鍋島直茂) & Katsushige[clarification needed] – 12,000 men[1]
- Ikeda Hideshi – 2,800 men[1]
- Nakagawa Hidenari – 2,500 men[1]
- Chosokabe Motochika – 3,000 men[1]
- [Mōri Hidemoto](/source/M%C5%8Dri_Hidemoto) (毛利秀元) – 30,000 men[1]

The total count (as of September 1597) was 65,300 men.[1]
