She was a print and commercial model including commercials for [Herbal Essences](/source/Herbal_Essences) shampoo.[4] ## Acting career Lansbury got her big break when she won the role of [Nancy Drew](/source/Nancy_Drew) in the 1970s television series *[The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries](/source/The_Hardy_Boys%2FNancy_Drew_Mysteries)* when [Pamela Sue Martin](/source/Pamela_Sue_Martin) left the show in 1978. Her other well-known TV role came a year later on the [cult TV series](/source/Cult_following) *[B. J. and the Bear](/source/B._J._and_the_Bear)* as Tommy.
