# Jane Bess

**Jane Bess** (1891–1944) was a German [screenwriter](/source/Screenwriter).[1] Following the rise to power of the [Nazi Party](/source/Nazi_Party) in 1933, she went into exile in the [Netherlands](/source/Netherlands). She was later murdered at [Auschwitz concentration camp](/source/Auschwitz_concentration_camp) in [occupied Poland](/source/Polish_areas_annexed_by_Nazi_Germany) in 1944 during the [holocaust](/source/The_Holocaust).
