While at college she competed on the international tennis tour, including [Wimbledon](/source/The_Championships%2C_Wimbledon), where she made the quarter-finals in 1965. En route she beat [Norma Baylon](/source/Norma_Baylon), [Helga Schultze](/source/Helga_Schultze) and [Françoise Dürr](/source/Fran%C3%A7oise_D%C3%BCrr).

Albert represented the United States in the [1966 Wightman Cup](/source/1966_Wightman_Cup), partnering [Billie Jean King](/source/Billie_Jean_King) in doubles.<ref name="ITA"/>

In 1967, her senior year, she won the AIAW doubles championship with [Julie Anthony](/source/Julie_Anthony_(tennis)) and competed at the [Pan American Games](/source/1967_Pan_American_Games) in Winnipeg, winning two gold medals for doubles and a bronze medal in the singles.<ref name="ITA"/>
