In 1936 he finished 24th in the [500 m](/source/Speed_skating_at_the_1936_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_500_metres), 14th in the [1500 m](/source/Speed_skating_at_the_1936_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_1500_metres), fourth in the [5000 m](/source/Speed_skating_at_the_1936_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_5000_metres) and sixth in the [10,000 m event](/source/Speed_skating_at_the_1936_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_10000_metres).
