# Jan Engelman

**Johannes Aloysius Antonius Engelman** (born [Utrecht](/source/Utrecht_(city)), 7 June 1900; died [Amsterdam](/source/Amsterdam), 20 March 1972) was a Dutch writer. He was the recipient of the [Constantijn Huygens Prize](/source/Constantijn_Huygens_Prize) in 1954. Dutch composers like [Marius Monnikendam](/source/Marius_Monnikendam) and [Marjo Tal](/source/Marjo_Tal) set several of his works to music.[1]
