**Jan Aqa** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): جان اقا)[a] is a village in [Ajorluy-ye Gharbi Rural District](/source/Ajorluy-ye_Gharbi_Rural_District)[4] of [Nokhtalu District](/source/Nokhtalu_District) in [Baruq County](/source/Baruq_County), [West Azerbaijan](/source/West_Azerbaijan_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran).

## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 273 in 66 households, when it was in [Baruq District](/source/Central_District_(Baruq_County))[b] of [Miandoab County](/source/Miandoab_County).[6] The following census in 2011 counted 234 people in 62 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 237 people in 77 households.[2]

In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of [Baruq County](/source/Baruq_County) and renamed the [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Baruq_County)). The rural district was transferred to the new [Nokhtalu District](/source/Nokhtalu_District).[5]
