**Jamsil Station** ([Korean](/source/Korean_language): 잠실역) is an underground station on [Line 2](/source/Seoul_Subway_Line_2) and [Line 8](/source/Seoul_Subway_Line_8) of the [Seoul Metropolitan Subway](/source/Seoul_Metropolitan_Subway). [Lotte World](/source/Lotte_World) is continuous with the Line 2 station. The station is also called **Songpa-gu Office Station** ([Korean](/source/Korean_language): 송파구청역), due to the proximity of the office building (right outside Exit 10 of the Line 8 station).[1]

The Line 2 station is located in [Jamsil-dong](/source/Jamsil-dong) and the Line 8 station is located in [Sincheon-dong](/source/Sincheon-dong%2C_Seoul). Both neighborhoods are within [Songpa District](/source/Songpa_District), Seoul.

## Passenger load

A survey conducted in 2011 by the [Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport](/source/Ministry_of_Land%2C_Infrastructure_and_Transport_(Korea)) on 92 [Administrative divisions](/source/Administrative_divisions_of_South_Korea) across the country reported that Jamsil Station is the second-busiest public transit stop after [Gangnam station](/source/Gangnam_station). It is followed by [Sadang station](/source/Sadang_station), [Seolleung station](/source/Seolleung_station) and [Sillim station](/source/Sillim_station).[4]

In December 2010 the station had the fourth-highest rate of WiFi data consumption of all the [Seoul Metropolitan Subway](/source/Seoul_Metropolitan_Subway) stations, following [Express Bus Terminal Station](/source/Express_Bus_Terminal_Station%2C_Seoul), [Sadang station](/source/Sadang_station), [Dongdaemun station](/source/Dongdaemun_station) and followed by [Jongno 3-ga Station](/source/Jongno_3-ga_Station).[5]

In a [Seoul Metro](/source/Seoul_Metro) analysis in 2024, Jamsil station became the busiest subway station across the Seoul area, surpassing Gangnam station with an average of 155,229 passengers each day on Line 2 over the course of the first four months in 2024.[2][6]
