**Jamie Brian Roy** [1] is a Scottish actor. He is best known for his role in the [Starz](/source/Starz) historical romance drama [*Outlander: Blood of My Blood*.](/source/Outlander:_Blood_of_My_Blood)

## Early life and education

Roy was born in [Greenock](/source/Greenock), Scotland and was raised in the town of [Lenzie](/source/Lenzie).[2]

He graduated from the [Strathclyde Business School](/source/Strathclyde_Business_School) in [Glasgow](/source/Glasgow).[2] He took acting classes in [Govan](/source/Govan) and later studied at the [New York Film Academy](/source/New_York_Film_Academy) in [Miami](/source/Miami).[3]

## Career

Roy turned down a management consultancy job in the [US](/source/United_States) to pursue acting. He worked at [Walt Disney World](/source/Walt_Disney_World) for three years, performing as the [*Frozen*](/source/Frozen_(2013_film)) character [Kristoff](/source/Kristoff_(Frozen)), before moving to [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles), where he picked up small television roles.[3]

Roy had roles in the [television films](/source/Television_film) *Your Boyfriend is Mine*, *Flowers and Honey*, *Burning Little Lies*, and *Picture Perfect Lies*. He also starred in *Squeaky Clean Mysteries: Hazardous Duty* and *Condor's Nest*.[4] Roy had not worked for two years before booking his breakout role as Brian Fraser in *Outlander: Blood of My Blood*.[3] He had previously auditioned for [*Outlander*](/source/Outlander_(TV_series)) twice without success.[5]

## Personal life

Roy has been in a relationship with American actress Annika Foster since 2021.[6]
