**Jamie Kaler** (born September 14, 1964) is an American [stand-up comedian](/source/Stand-up_comedian) and actor who has gained fame by portraying the character Mike Callahan on the [TBS](/source/TBS_(American_TV_channel)) comedy *[My Boys](/source/My_Boys)*.[1]

## Career

Kaler hosted *[America: Facts vs. Fiction](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=America:_Facts_vs._Fiction&action=edit&redlink=1)* on [American Heroes Channel](/source/American_Heroes_Channel). He has appeared on such talk shows as the *[Late Late Show](/source/The_Late_Late_Show_(CBS_TV_series))* as well as having a role on the sitcom *[How I Met Your Mother](/source/How_I_Met_Your_Mother)*, and had a recurring role on *[Will and Grace](/source/Will_and_Grace)*. Kaler has also done voice work for *[Robot Chicken](/source/Robot_Chicken)*. He is a member of the ACME Company, [ACME Comedy Theatre](/source/ACME_Comedy_Theatre)'s top-level sketch company and has also made guest appearances on *[Friends](/source/Friends)*, *[The King of Queens](/source/The_King_of_Queens)*, *[Shake It Up](/source/Shake_It_Up_(American_TV_series))* and *[Monk](/source/Monk_(TV_series))*.

## Personal life

Kaler graduated from [Boston University](/source/Boston_University), and was afterwards commissioned as a lieutenant in the [United States Navy](/source/United_States_Navy) and stationed in [San Diego](/source/San_Diego). After resigning his commission, he started performing in comedy clubs and eventually became involved in the [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles) comedy scene.[2]
