# Jamie Hall

**James William Hall** (born 30 March 1968) is a former [English](/source/English_people) [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Hall was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) who bowled right-arm [off break](/source/Off_break). He was born in [Chichester](/source/Chichester), [Sussex](/source/Sussex).

Hall made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for [Sussex](/source/Sussex_County_Cricket_Club) against [Glamorgan](/source/Glamorgan_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1990 County Championship](/source/1990_County_Championship). He made 96 further first-class appearances for Sussex, the last of which came against [Yorkshire](/source/Yorkshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1996 County Championship](/source/1996_County_Championship).[1] In his 97 first-class matches, he scored 4,997 runs at an [average](/source/Batting_average_(cricket)) of 30.28, with a high score of 141 [not out](/source/Not_out).[2] This score, which was one of six first-class [centuries](/source/Century_(cricket)) he made, came against [Lancashire](/source/Lancashire_County_Cricket_Club) in 1992.[3] This was on top of 30 [half centuries](/source/Half_century) he made. He passed 1,000 runs for a season twice, in 1990 when he scored 1,140 and in 1992 when he scored 1,125.[4]

He also made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut in 1990 against the touring [Zimbabweans](/source/Zimbabwe_national_cricket_team). Hall would go on to make 53 further appearances in that format, the last of which came against Yorkshire in the [1996 NatWest Trophy](/source/1996_NatWest_Trophy).[5] In his 54 List A matches, he scored 1,578 runs at an average of 29.77, with a high score of 81.[6] This score, one of thirteen half centuries he made in that format, came against [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club) in 1992.[7] He left Sussex at the end of the [1996 season](/source/1996_English_cricket_season).

Hall now works as a director of Posturite Ltd, a company specialising in office furniture.[8]
