# Jamie Golden

**Jamie Golden** (born 24 December 2001)[1] is a Scottish [field hockey](/source/Field_hockey) player who plays as a midfielder for the [Western Wildcats](/source/Western_Wildcats_Hockey_Club) and the [Scotland national team](/source/Scotland_men's_national_field_hockey_team).[2]

## Biography

Golden was born and raised in [Dundee](/source/Dundee,_Scotland), Scotland.[3] His older brother, [Cameron](/source/Cameron_Golden), also represents Scotland in hockey.[4]

Golden broke through the youth setup of Grove Menzieshill and eventually joined the senior team where he played until his departure in 2020.[5] Golden made his debut for the Scotland U–21 side at the [EuroHockey Junior Championship II](/source/2019_Men's_EuroHockey_Junior_Championship_II) in [Plzeň](/source/Plze%C5%88), where he won a gold medal.[6][7] Following his Scotland junior debut, Golden went on to represent the Great Britain U21 side, winning gold at the [2019 Sultan of Johor Cup](/source/2019_Sultan_of_Johor_Cup).[8]

In 2020, he moved to England to join [Surbiton](/source/Surbiton_Hockey_Club).[9] While at Surbiton he made his senior Scottish international debut in 2021[2][6] and was selected to represent Scotland at the [2022 Commonwealth Games](/source/2022_Commonwealth_Games) in Birmingham.[10][11] He also played in the [2022 Sultan of Johor Cup](/source/2022_Sultan_of_Johor_Cup) in [Johor Bahru](/source/Johor_Bahru), winning bronze.[6][12][13]

Following his time at Surbiton, Golden transferred to [Beeston](/source/Beeston_Hockey_Club) in the 2022–2023 season.[14] In 2023, Golden made a move to Germany, joining [Hamburger Polo Club](/source/Hamburger_Polo_Club) in the [Bundesliga](/source/Men's_Feldhockey_Bundesliga).[15]

In 2024, Golden returned to Scotland to join [Western Wildcats](/source/Western_Wildcats_Hockey_Club).[16]

In February 2025, he was part of the men's squad for [2024–25 Men's FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_Men's_FIH_Hockey_Nations_Cup_2) in [Muscat](/source/Muscat), Oman, and helped the team win the gold medal[17] and a few months later, he helped Scotland win the bronze medal at the [2025 Men's EuroHockey Championship II](/source/2025_Men's_EuroHockey_Championship_II) in [Lousada](/source/Lousada), Portugal,[18] defeating Italy in the third place play off.[19]
