# Jamie Foy

**Jamie Foy** (born June 14, 1996) is an American [regular-footed](/source/Regular_foot) skateboarder.[1][2][3] Foy was crowned 2017 and 2024 [Skater of the Year](/source/Skater_of_the_Year) by [*Thrasher*](/source/Thrasher_(magazine)) magazine.[4][5][6] He skates for [Deathwish Skateboards](/source/Baker_Skateboards), Thunder Trucks, Shake Junt, [Spitfire Wheels](/source/Deluxe_Distribution), [Red Bull](/source/Red_Bull), and [New Balance Numeric](/source/New_Balance#Skateboarding_shoes).[7]

## Career

Foy was born and grew up in [Deerfield Beach, Florida](/source/Deerfield_Beach,_Florida). He started skating at the age of 1 and entering local skate contests at a young age. Foy started his career in 2013 and won several competitions in Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

In 2016, Foy moved to [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles) and quickly gained popularity after appearing in 7 videos in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he became pro for Deathwish Skateboards and was invited to join the [Street League Tour](/source/Street_League_Skateboarding). He was named Thrasher's Skater of the Year the same year.

Foy has won a total of three [X Games](/source/X_Games) medals in 2019 and 2021.[8]
