# James Weighell

**William James Weighell** (born 28 January 1994) is an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who has played for [Durham](/source/Durham_County_Cricket_Club), [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire_County_Cricket_Club) and [Glamorgan](/source/Glamorgan_County_Cricket_Club). He made his [first-class debut](/source/First-class_cricket) in 2015. Primarily a left-handed [batsman](/source/Batting_(cricket)), he also bowls right-arm [medium](/source/Fast_bowling).[1][2] He made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut for Durham in the [2017 Royal London One-Day Cup](/source/2017_Royal_London_One-Day_Cup) on 27 April 2017.[3] He made his [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) debut for Durham in the [2017 NatWest t20 Blast](/source/2017_NatWest_t20_Blast) on 7 July 2017.[4]

Durham announced in July 2020 that Weighell would leave the club when his contract expired.[5] [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire_County_Cricket_Club) stated on 6 August 2020, that they had signed Weighell on loan until the end of the 2020 season.[6] He joined Glamorgan for the 2021 season.
