# James Neuberger

**James Max Neuberger** (born 4 November 1950) is a consultant physician, [Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham](/source/Queen_Elizabeth_Hospital,_Birmingham), part of [University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust](/source/University_Hospitals_Birmingham_NHS_Foundation_Trust), and professor of medicine at the [University of Birmingham](/source/University_of_Birmingham). He is one of the editors of the journal *Transplantation* and was the Associate Medical Director (Organ Donation and Transplantation) of [NHS Blood and Transplant](/source/NHS_Blood_and_Transplant).[1]

## Education

Neuberger was educated at [Westminster School](/source/Westminster_School) and [Christ Church, Oxford](/source/Christ_Church,_Oxford) from where he obtained his MA, BM, BCh and DM.

## Personal life

He is the son of Prof. [Albert Neuberger](/source/Albert_Neuberger), the brother of Prof. [Michael Neuberger](/source/Michael_Neuberger), Prof. [Anthony Neuberger](/source/Anthony_Neuberger), and [David Neuberger, Baron Neuberger of Abbotsbury](/source/David_Neuberger,_Baron_Neuberger_of_Abbotsbury) (President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom), and the brother-in-law of [Julia Neuberger](/source/Julia_Neuberger).
