'''James Davy''' (born May 6, 1953) is the former [Commissioner of Human Services](/source/New_Jersey_Department_of_Human_Services) in [New Jersey](/source/New_Jersey), holding the position under former [Governors](/source/Governor_of_New_Jersey) [James McGreevey](/source/James_McGreevey) and [Jon Corzine](/source/Jon_Corzine). He previously served on McGreevey's staff in the governor's office and while McGreevey was Mayor of [Woodbridge Township](/source/Woodbridge_Township%2C_New_Jersey).

Born May 6, 1953, in [Philadelphia](/source/Philadelphia), he was raised in [Pittsburgh](/source/Pittsburgh) and graduated in 1971 from [North Allegheny Senior High School](/source/North_Allegheny_Senior_High_School). On September 9, 2005, then Governor of New Jersey [Richard Codey](/source/Richard_Codey) named his wife, [Lucille Davy](/source/Lucille_Davy), as Acting [Commissioner of Education](/source/New_Jersey_Department_of_Education). In doing so, they became the first husband and wife to serve in a state cabinet together in the country.
