He was also a member of the band [The City Drive](/source/The_City_Drive). He currently resides in [Hollywood](/source/Hollywood%2C_California), [California](/source/California).

Between 2002 and 2004, Jake combined efforts with Dave Drago to operate the Hopewell Recording Studio in [Canandaigua, New York](/source/Canandaigua_(city)%2C_New_York); a foray self described as a "project studio." It recorded artists predominantly from the [Rochester](/source/Rochester%2C_New_York) area. While the [studio](/source/recording_studio) is no longer [recording](/source/sound_recording_and_reproduction), its website remains for archiving purposes.

Once finished with the Canandaigua studio, Jake moved to [Los Angeles, California](/source/Los_Angeles%2C_California), where he met Chris Perry and eventually became a [bass](/source/bass_guitar) player for The City Drive in 2007. Immediately following the band's dismemberment, Jake, along with [Norm Kerner](/source/Norm_Kerner), began the development of a private recording studio, Perfect Sound Studios, which began recording in November 2009, and is located in the salubrious [Hollywood Hills](/source/Hollywood_Hills).

Alongside Jake is [Jason Donaghy](/source/Jason_Donaghy), [audio engineer](/source/audio_engineer) who worked on [Band of Horses](/source/Band_of_Horses)' [Grammy](/source/Grammy) nominated album, [Infinite Arms](/source/Infinite_Arms), while at Perfect Sound.
