'''Jake Davidson''' (born 6 October 2000) is a Scottish professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who most recently played as a [midfielder](/source/midfielder) for Scottish Championship club Inverness Caledonian Thistle.<ref>{{Cite web|title=Jake Davidson Football Stats Inverness Caledonian Thistle Season 2023/2024 Soccer Base|url=https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=104582&season_id=155|access-date=2024-07-10|website=www.soccerbase.com}}</ref>

== Career ==
Davidson rose through the youth ranks at [Dundee United](/source/Dundee_United_F.C.) and was promoted to the first team squad in 2017. However, he failed to break into the team and was sent out on loan: in 2019 to [Lowland League](/source/Lowland_Football_League) side [Spartans](/source/The_Spartans_F.C.), [League Two](/source/Scottish_League_Two) side [Queen's Park](/source/Queen's_Park_F.C.), [League of Ireland](/source/League_of_Ireland_Premier_Division) side [Waterford](/source/Waterford_F.C.), and [Scottish Championship](/source/Scottish_Championship) side [Arbroath](/source/Arbroath_F.C.).<ref name="SW" />

In 2021, Davidson returned to Queen's Park,<ref>{{Cite web |last=Hamilton |first=Sean |date=2021-06-20 |title=Queen's Park snap up ex-Dundee United kid Jake Davidson |url=https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/dundee-united/2322070/queens-park-snap-up-ex-dundee-united-kid-jake-davidson/ |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=The Courier }}</ref> now in [League One](/source/Scottish_League_One), after leaving Dundee United, and helped the [Glasgow](/source/Glasgow) club to gain promotion to the second tier for the first time since the 1980s. He scored his first professional goal in a 1–1 [League Cup](/source/Scottish_League_Cup) draw with [Hamilton Academical](/source/Hamilton_Academical_F.C.) in July 2022, then his first SPFL goal a week later against [Inverness Caledonian Thistle](/source/Inverness_Caledonian_Thistle_F.C.). He made 34 appearances in the [2022–23 Scottish Championship](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_Scottish_Championship) campaign as the ''Spiders'' finished runners-up.

In the summer of 2023, Davidson left Queen's Park for Championship rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Chalk |first=Paul |date=2023-06-16 |title=Defender Jake Davidson switches to Caley Thistle from Queen's Park |url=https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/5852878/defender-jake-davidson-switches-to-inverness-from-queens-park/ |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=Press and Journal }}</ref> He scored on his league debut, ironically against his former club Queen's Park, in a 2–1 loss.<ref>{{Cite news |title=Queen's Park prove too strong for Inverness |work=BBC Sport |url=https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66194530 |access-date=2023-12-17|date=2023-08-05}}</ref>
