**Jacqueline Williams** (born 4 March 1976) is a Jamaican [cricket umpire](/source/Umpire_(cricket)).[1] She has officiated in the [2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier](/source/2015_ICC_Women's_World_Twenty20_Qualifier) tournament.[2]

She became the first female umpire to stand in the domestic 50-over competition in the West Indies, when she was one of the on-field umpires in the match between [Trinidad & Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_cricket_team) and [ICC Americas](/source/ICC_Americas_cricket_team) in the [2015–16 Regional Super50](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Regional_Super50) tournament.[3][4] [On 14 December 2023](/source/English_cricket_team_in_the_West_Indies_in_2023%E2%80%9324#2nd_T20I), she became the first female umpire from the West Indies to [stand in a men's T20I](/source/List_of_Twenty20_International_cricket_umpires) involving two [Full-Member teams](/source/List_of_International_Cricket_Council_members#Full_members).[5]

## Career

Williams stood as an umpire in the [2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier](/source/2015_ICC_Women's_World_Twenty20_Qualifier) tournament.[2] In 2016, she became the first female umpire to stand in the domestic 50-over competition in the West Indies, when she was one of the on-field umpires between [Trinidad & Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_cricket_team) and [ICC Americas](/source/ICC_Americas_cricket_team) in the [2015–16 Regional Super50](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Regional_Super50) tournament.[3][4]

During the [2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five](/source/2016_ICC_World_Cricket_League_Division_Five) tournament in [Jersey](/source/Jersey), she was the third umpire during the fixture between [Oman](/source/Oman_national_cricket_team) and [Nigeria](/source/Nigeria_national_cricket_team) on 22 May.[3] Her colleague, [Sue Redfern](/source/Sue_Redfern), was one of the on-field umpires, making it the first time that two female umpires had officiated in a men's match in an ICC tournament.[3]

In October 2016 she was selected as one of the eight umpires to stand in matches in the [2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Four](/source/2016_ICC_World_Cricket_League_Division_Four) tournament.[6] In January 2017, she was one of four female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the [2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier](/source/2017_Women's_Cricket_World_Cup_Qualifier).[7] In October 2018, she was named as one of the twelve on-field umpires for the [2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20](/source/2018_ICC_Women's_World_Twenty20).[8] In May 2019, the [International Cricket Council](/source/International_Cricket_Council) named her as one of the eight women on the ICC Development Panel of Umpires.[9][10]

She stood in her first [Twenty20 International](/source/Twenty20_International) (T20I) match, between [Canada](/source/Canada_national_cricket_team) and the [Cayman Islands](/source/Cayman_Islands_national_cricket_team) in the [Regional Finals](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_ICC_T20_World_Cup_Americas_Qualifier#Regional_Finals) of the [2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_ICC_T20_World_Cup_Americas_Qualifier) tournament on 18 August 2019.[11] Later the same month, she was named as one of the umpires to officiate in matches during the [2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier](/source/2019_ICC_Women's_World_Twenty20_Qualifier) tournament in Scotland.[12] She stood in her first [One Day International](/source/One_Day_International) (ODI) match, between the [United States](/source/United_States_national_cricket_team) and [Papua New Guinea](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_national_cricket_team) in the [2019 United States Tri-Nation Series](/source/2019_United_States_Tri-Nation_Series) on 13 September 2019.[13] In January 2020, Williams was named as the [third umpire](/source/Third_umpire) for the first T20I between [the West Indies and Ireland](/source/Irish_cricket_team_in_the_West_Indies_in_2019%E2%80%9320), becoming the first woman to officiate as a third umpire in a men's international cricket match.[14]

In February 2020, the ICC named her as one of the umpires to officiate in matches during the [2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup](/source/2020_ICC_Women's_T20_World_Cup) in Australia.[15] In January 2022, she was named as one of the on-field umpires for the [2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2022_ICC_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup) in the West Indies.[16] She became the first female umpire to officiate on-field during the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and was the fourth umpire for the final of the tournament.[17]

In February 2022, she was named as one of the on-field umpires for the [2022 Women's Cricket World Cup](/source/2022_Women's_Cricket_World_Cup) in New Zealand.[18][19]

In September 2024 she was named as part of an all-female officiating group for the [2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup](/source/2024_ICC_Women's_T20_World_Cup).[20]
