==History==
The amphitheater opened in 1987 as Nautica Stage and was renamed [Scene](/source/Cleveland_Scene) Pavilion in 2003, following renovations that included the addition of a [canopy](/source/canopy_(building)).<ref>{{cite web |url=https://geigerengineers.com/project/1532651974882/jacobs-pavilion-nautica-entertainment-complex |title=Jacobs Pavilion |publisher=Geiger Engineers |access-date=March 1, 2022}}</ref>

The naming rights were then purchased by ''[The Plain Dealer](/source/The_Plain_Dealer)'' in 2006 and it was renamed The Plain Dealer Pavilion, a name which lasted until February 2009 when it was renamed Nautica Pavilion.<ref>{{cite news |url=http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2009/02/amphitheater_on_west_bank_of_t.html |title=Amphitheater on West Bank of the Flats to be renamed 'Nautica Pavilion' |first=Marcia |last=Pledger |work=[The Plain Dealer](/source/The_Plain_Dealer) |date=2009-02-06 |access-date=2009-02-06}}</ref>

Its current name was adopted in March 2011.<ref>{{cite news |first=John |last=Soeder |title=Time Warner Cable Amphitheater Closes; Nautica Pavilion Reborn as Jacobs Pavilion |url=http://www.cleveland.com/popmusic/index.ssf/2011/03/time_warner_cable_amphitheater.html |work=[The Plain Dealer](/source/The_Plain_Dealer) |date=2011-03-30 |access-date=2011-03-30}}</ref>
