# Jacob VanCompernolle

**Jacob Leon VanCompernolle** (born August 2, 1993) is an American professional [soccer](/source/Association_football) player who last played as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)) for [OKC Energy U23](/source/OKC_Energy_U23) in the [Premier Development League](/source/Premier_Development_League).

## Career

### College & Youth

VanCompernolle played four years [college soccer](/source/College_soccer_in_the_United_States) at the [University of North Carolina at Wilmington](/source/University_of_North_Carolina_at_Wilmington) between 2011 and 2014.[1] In his senior year, VanCompernolle was the CAA's Defensive Player-of-the-Year and a first-team All-CAA honoree.[2]

While at college, VanCompernolle appeared for [USL PDL](/source/USL_PDL) side [Ottawa Fury](/source/Ottawa_Fury_(2005%E2%80%9313)) during their 2013 season and [GPS Portland Phoenix](/source/GPS_Portland_Phoenix) during their 2014 season.[3][4]

### Professional

After trials with [New England Revolution](/source/New_England_Revolution) and [Colorado Rapids](/source/Colorado_Rapids), VanCompernolle signed with [United Soccer League](/source/United_Soccer_League) side [Oklahoma City Energy](/source/Oklahoma_City_Energy) on February 11, 2015.[5]

VanCompernolle signed with [Sporting Kansas City](/source/Sporting_Kansas_City)'s United Soccer League development side [Swope Park Rangers](/source/Swope_Park_Rangers) on January 8, 2016.[6]
