# Jackson Inlet

**Jackson Inlet** ([73°18′N 088°45′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=73_18_N_088_45_W&title=Jackson%20Inlet))[1] is a body of water in [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut)'s [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region). It lies east of [Lancaster Sound](/source/Lancaster_Sound) and cuts into [Baffin Island](/source/Baffin_Island)'s [Brodeur Peninsula](/source/Brodeur_Peninsula).

## Mining

[Nanisivik](/source/Nanisivik,_Nunavut), a company mining town, is located 120 km (75 mi) to the east.[2]

The inlet and surrounding area has been explored for diamonds and other potential mining resources.[3]
