# Jack Wareham

**John Wareham** (10 April 1901 – 26 August 1984) was an English [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played on the [left wing](/source/Outside_forward).

## Career

Wareham played for [non-League](/source/Non-League_football) sides Scot Hay, Alsagers Bank P.S.A., and Podmore Hall before joining [Stoke](/source/Stoke_City_F.C.) in 1923. He did not play a first-team game for the "Potters" and instead moved on to [local rivals](/source/Potteries_derby) [Port Vale](/source/Port_Vale_F.C.) in August 1924.[1] After making his debut in a 4–1 defeat to [Blackpool](/source/Blackpool_F.C.) at [Bloomfield Road](/source/Bloomfield_Road) on 22 April 1925, he played in the 4–0 defeat to [Manchester United](/source/Manchester_United_F.C.) at [Old Trafford](/source/Old_Trafford) three days later.[1] These were his only [Second Division](/source/Football_League_Second_Division) appearances for the "Valiants", and he was released at the end of [the season](/source/1924%E2%80%9325_Port_Vale_F.C._season), at which point he signed with [Crewe Alexandra](/source/Crewe_Alexandra_F.C.) of the [Third Division North](/source/Football_League_Third_Division_North).[1] He later played non-League football for [Winsford United](/source/Winsford_United_F.C.) and [Stafford Rangers](/source/Stafford_Rangers_F.C.).[1]
