==Playing career==

When Capper left Wrexham in 1955 after 48 league outings he was awarded a benefit match.<ref name="RIPjack"/> After a short spell with non-league [Headington United](/source/Oxford_United_F.C.), he returned to professional circles with [Lincoln City](/source/Lincoln_City_F.C.) in January 1956.<ref name="RIPjack"/> After struggling to command a regular place at [Sincil Bank](/source/Sincil_Bank), Capper moved to [Chester](/source/Chester_City_F.C.) in September 1959 for £1,500.<ref name="RIPjack"/> He competed with the [centre back](/source/centre_back) position with [George Spruce](/source/George_Spruce)<ref name="RIPjack"/> before retiring from the game through injury in 1961.<ref name="RIPjack"/>

Capper later joined the Police and then as a security officer at a holiday camp in [Prestatyn](/source/Prestatyn).<ref name="RIPjack"/>
