**John Belton** (died 23 February 1963) was an Irish politician, builder and publican. He was first elected to [Dáil Éireann](/source/D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann) as a [Fine Gael](/source/Fine_Gael) [Teachta Dála](/source/Teachta_D%C3%A1la) (TD) for the [Dublin North-East](/source/Dublin_North-East) constituency at the [1948 general election](/source/1948_Irish_general_election).[1] He was re-elected at the [1951](/source/1951_Irish_general_election), [1954](/source/1954_Irish_general_election), [1957](/source/1957_Irish_general_election) and [1961](/source/1961_Irish_general_election) general elections.

He died in office on 23 February 1963,[2] and the [by-election held on 30 May 1963](/source/1963_Dublin_North-East_by-election) was won by his brother [Paddy Belton](/source/Paddy_Belton).[3] He served as [Lord Mayor of Dublin](/source/Lord_Mayor_of_Dublin) from 1950 to 1951.[4]
