# Jabari Issa

**Jabari Issa** (born April 18, 1978) is an American former professional [football](/source/Gridiron_football) [defensive end](/source/Defensive_end) who played two seasons for the [Arizona Cardinals](/source/Arizona_Cardinals) of the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL), one year with the [Barcelona Dragons](/source/Barcelona_Dragons_(NFL_Europe)) of the [NFL Europe](/source/NFL_Europe) and four seasons for the [Edmonton Eskimos](/source/Edmonton_Eskimos) of the [Canadian Football League](/source/Canadian_Football_League) (CFL). He played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [Washington Huskies](/source/Washington_Huskies_football) and was selected by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the [2000 NFL draft](/source/2000_NFL_draft).[1]

Issa's career also included NFL stints with the [Houston Texans](/source/Houston_Texans) (taken in the [2002 NFL expansion draft](/source/2002_NFL_expansion_draft)), the [Pittsburgh Steelers](/source/Pittsburgh_Steelers) and the [Kansas City Chiefs](/source/Kansas_City_Chiefs), but he never played for them.

## High school

Issa attended [San Mateo High School](/source/San_Mateo_High_School) in [San Mateo, California](/source/San_Mateo,_California) where he was an All-Peninsula Athletic League and All-Bay Area pick as a senior.[2]

## College

Issa played for the [Washington Huskies](/source/Washington_Huskies_football) from 1996 to 1999 for coaches [Jim Lambright](/source/Jim_Lambright) and [Rick Neuheisel](/source/Rick_Neuheisel). In 1998, he registered an All-Pac-10 campaign. In 1999, he served as a team captain. Following his Washington career, Issa played in the [East–West Shrine Game](/source/East%E2%80%93West_Shrine_Game).[3]
