**JJ White** was an American [country music](/source/Country_music) duo from [Yuba City, California](/source/Yuba_City,_California) composed of sisters Janice and Jayne White. Signed to [Curb Records](/source/Curb_Records) in 1989, the duo charted four singles on the *[Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))* [Hot Country Singles & Tracks](/source/Hot_Country_Songs) chart between 1991 and 1992.[1] Their 1991 debut album, *Janice and Jayne*, received a B rating from [Entertainment Weekly](/source/Entertainment_Weekly)'s [Alanna Nash](/source/Alanna_Nash).[2] Their second album *Scratches on Her Knees* was independently produced and released in 1999.[3] Jayne White died in 2003 from cancer.[3]
