**Ives Head** is a 5 hectares (12 acres) geological [Site of Special Scientific Interest](/source/Site_of_Special_Scientific_Interest) south of [Shepshed](/source/Shepshed) in [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire).[1][2] It is a [Geological Conservation Review](/source/Geological_Conservation_Review) site.[3]

This site exposes [volcaniclastic](/source/Volcaniclastic) sandstones dating to the late [Precambrian](/source/Precambrian), around 600 million years ago. It is important for the global understanding of the early evolution of [Ediacaran](/source/Ediacaran) environments.[4]

The site is private land with no public access.
