At the 1920 Olympic Games, Sahlin finished fourth in the [triple jump competition](/source/Athletics_at_the_1920_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_triple_jump). Four years later, at the 1924 Olympic Games, he was eliminated in the qualification of the [triple jump competition](/source/Athletics_at_the_1924_Summer_Olympics_-_Men's_triple_jump) and finished eighth overall. In the [high jump event](/source/Athletics_at_the_1924_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_high_jump), he was also eliminated in the qualification and finished tenth overall.

He died in [Sigtuna](/source/Sigtuna).
