==Biography==
Israel Medres was born in [Lekhovich](/source/Lyakhavichy), [Russian Empire](/source/Russian_Empire), in 1894. He studied for three years at the yeshiva of [Lida](/source/Lida).{{r|EJ}}{{r|kucharsky}} At the age of 16 he immigrated to Canada,{{r|margolis}} where he joined the staff of the ''[Keneder Adler](/source/Keneder_Adler)'' in 1922.{{r|felsen}}
