**Isobel Victoria Steele**[2] (born 28 December 2000)[3] is an English actress and singer. She is known for her role as [Liv Flaherty](/source/Liv_Flaherty) in the [ITV](/source/ITV_(TV_channel)) soap opera *[Emmerdale](/source/Emmerdale)* from February 2016 to October 2022, for which she was nominated for and won various awards, including a nomination for the [British Soap Award for Best Newcomer](/source/British_Soap_Award_for_Best_Newcomer) in 2016, and winning the [Best Young Actor](/source/Best_Young_Actor) award at both the [British Soap Awards](/source/British_Soap_Awards) and the [*Inside Soap* Awards](/source/Inside_Soap_Awards).

## Career

Between 2008 and 2010, Steele appeared in commercials for [Park Foods](/source/Peter_Johnson_(businessman)), [Iceland](/source/Iceland_(supermarket)), [Harveys Furniture](/source/Harveys_Furniture) and [Bernard Matthews Ltd](/source/Bernard_Matthews_Ltd). For [BBC Learning](/source/BBC_Learning) in 2013, she played Nicky in *Lost*.[4] Steele appeared in *[Our Zoo](/source/Our_Zoo)* in 2014 as Barbara.[5] She also played Chloe in a short film, *A Father's Day*. Steele appeared in episode of *[The Dumping Ground](/source/The_Dumping_Ground)* in [series 4](/source/The_Dumping_Ground_(series_4)) playing Kara.[6] In 2016, Steele was cast as [Liv Flaherty](/source/Liv_Flaherty) in *[Emmerdale](/source/Emmerdale)*, the half-sister of [Aaron Dingle](/source/Aaron_Dingle) ([Danny Miller](/source/Danny_Miller_(actor))).[7][8] She took a break from the show in 2017 to sit her [GCSE](/source/GCSE) exams.[9] Steele also began posting original and cover songs on her [YouTube](/source/YouTube) channel in 2017.[10] In November 2019, Steele released an [extended play](/source/Extended_play), *Sounds from the Lounge*.[11] In October 2022, it was announced that Steele had made the decision to leave *Emmerdale* to focus on her music career.[12] She released the single "Out for Breakfast" in April 2023.[13]
