The **Iskander Darya** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Искандердарья; [Tajik](/source/Tajik_language): Искандардарё) is a river in [Ayni District](/source/Ayni_District) of [Sughd Region](/source/Sughd_Region), [Tajikistan](/source/Tajikistan). The Iskander Darya is 20 kilometres (12 mi) long, and the area of its [drainage basin](/source/Drainage_basin) is 950 square kilometres (370 mi2) long. It is the left source river of the [Fan Darya](/source/Fan_Darya).[1]

The Iskander Darya has its source in [Lake Iskanderkul](/source/Iskanderkul) and flows east. The mouth of Iskander Darya is near the village of [Zarafshan II](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zarafshan_II&action=edit&redlink=1).[2] The river merges with the [Yaghnob](/source/Yaghnob_(river)) at an altitude of around 1640 m, forming the [Fan Darya](/source/Fan_Darya).[1]
