==Life==
He was the son of Ebenezer Lacey and Mary (Hurd) Lacey.

In 1816, he removed from [White Creek, New York](/source/White_Creek%2C_New_York) to a place in [Genesee County](/source/Genesee_County%2C_New_York) which in 1822 became part of the Town of [Chili](/source/Chili%2C_New_York), now in Monroe County.

He was a member of the [New York State Assembly](/source/New_York_State_Assembly) (Monroe Co.) in [1826](/source/49th_New_York_State_Legislature) and [1831](/source/54th_New_York_State_Legislature).

He was a member of the [New York State Senate](/source/New_York_State_Senate) (8th D.) from 1835 to 1838, sitting in the [58th](/source/58th_New_York_State_Legislature), [59th](/source/59th_New_York_State_Legislature), [60th](/source/60th_New_York_State_Legislature) and [61st New York State Legislature](/source/61st_New_York_State_Legislature)s.

He was buried at the Fellows Cemetery in South Chili.

Assemblyman [John T. Lacey](/source/John_T._Lacey) (b. 1808) was his son.
