# Irving Davis

**Cyril Irving Davis** (December 12, 1896 – June 27, 1958)[1] was an American [soccer](/source/Soccer) [full back](/source/Defender_(football)) who played professionally with [Philadelphia Field Club](/source/Philadelphia_Field_Club) in the American Soccer League (ASL) from 1924 to 1926. He was born in [Stourport-on-Severn](/source/Stourport-on-Severn), [England](/source/England).[2] Davis was a member of the [U.S. soccer team](/source/United_States_at_the_1924_Summer_Olympics) at the [1924 Summer Olympics](/source/Football_at_the_1924_Summer_Olympics).[3] He went on to earn five [caps](/source/Cap_(sports)) with the [U.S. national team](/source/United_States_men's_national_soccer_team) in 1924 and 1925. His first game with the U.S. national team came in the U.S. victory over [Estonia](/source/Estonia_national_football_team) at the 1924 Olympics. His last game came on June 27, 1926, a 1–0 loss to [Canada](/source/Canada_men's_national_soccer_team).[4] He later went on to play for Fairhill F.C.
