**Iron Lung Corp** were an American [electro-industrial](/source/Electro-industrial) group based in [Chicago](/source/Chicago) and originally formed by [Jamie Duffy](/source/Jamie_Duffy_(American_musician)), [Alex Eller](/source/Alex_Eller), [Gregory A. Lopez](/source/Gregory_A._Lopez), [Brian McGarvey](/source/Brian_McGarvey), [Daniel Neet](/source/Daniel_Neet), [Will Nivens](/source/Will_Nivens), [Ethan Novak](/source/Ethan_Novak) and [Jason Novak](/source/Jason_Novak). They released three full-length albums: *[Big Shiny Spears](/source/Big_Shiny_Spears)* (1997), *[Ditch the Attitude, Pally](/source/Ditch_the_Attitude%2C_Pally)* (2002), *[Body Snatchers](/source/Body_Snatchers_(Iron_Lung_Corp_album))* (2013).[1]

## History

Iron Lung Corp was formed in 1996 by members of [Chicago's](/source/Chicago) [Acumen Nation](/source/Acumen_Nation) and [Albany's](/source/Albany%2C_New_York) [The Clay People](/source/The_Clay_People).[2] The band's had been collaborating for a year when [Chase](/source/Chase_(label_manager)) saw them perform live at the Whiskey in Los Angeles and recommended that they pursue a side project. That year the band was signed Chase's label [Re-Constriction Records](/source/Re-Constriction_Records) and issued their debut studio album *[Big Shiny Spears](/source/Big_Shiny_Spears)*.[3][4][5] [Underground, Inc.](/source/Underground%2C_Inc.) released their second album *[Ditch the Attitude, Pally](/source/Ditch_the_Attitude%2C_Pally)* which charted at one hundred thirty-five on [CMJ Radio 200](/source/CMJ_New_Music_Report).[6][7] In September 2013, the band released their third studio album *[Body Snatchers](/source/Body_Snatchers_(Iron_Lung_Corp_album))* on [Cracknation Records](/source/Cracknation_Records).[8][9][10]
