It was home to the [Iowa State University](/source/Iowa_State_University) Cyclones [basketball](/source/basketball) team until [Hilton Coliseum](/source/Hilton_Coliseum) opened in 1971.<ref name="ESPN">{{harvnb|ESPN|2009}}</ref> The main floor of the arena now serves as project space for the College of Design.
