The **Intellectual Armenia Party** ([Armenian](/source/Armenian_language): Մտավոր Հայաստան) is an [Armenian](/source/Armenia) [political party](/source/Political_party). It was founded on 30 April 2021 and is led by Chairman Manuk Sukiasyan.[2]

## History

The party was founded during the [2020–2021 Armenian protests](/source/2020%E2%80%932021_Armenian_protests).[3] Manuk Sukiasyan was a former member of the [Mission Party](/source/Mission_Party_(Armenia)) and an ally of Prime Minister [Nikol Pashinyan](/source/Nikol_Pashinyan), however Sukiasyan left the Mission Party and called on Pashinyan to resign.[4][5] The party does not maintain any political representation in the [National Assembly](/source/National_Assembly_of_Armenia) and currently acts as an [extra-parliamentary](/source/Extra-parliamentary_opposition) force.[6]

The party endorsed the [Armenia Alliance](/source/Armenia_Alliance) in the [2021 Armenian parliamentary election](/source/2021_Armenian_parliamentary_election).[7]

Prior to the [2023 Yerevan City Council election](/source/2023_Yerevan_City_Council_election), the party announced it would join the [Mother Armenia Alliance](/source/Mother_Armenia_Alliance). Following the election, the alliance won 12 seats in the [Yerevan City Council](/source/Yerevan_City_Council).[8]

## Ideology

The party greatly values education and the party believes that they can improve the status of the country through knowledge. The party calls for creating a prosperous future through science, education, and aims to protect the interests of small and medium-sized businesses. The party also calls for the protection of [human rights](/source/Human_rights), developing a strong economy, and improving the efficiency of the army.[3][9][10]
