**Inott Point** ([62°31′31″S 60°00′17″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_31_31_S_60_00_17_W)) is a point 1 nautical mile (2 km) north-northeast of [Edinburgh Hill](/source/Edinburgh_Hill) forming the eastern extremity of [Varna Peninsula](/source/Varna_Peninsula) on [Livingston Island](/source/Livingston_Island) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). Situated 4.3 km southwest of [Bagryana Point](/source/Bagryana_Point) on [Greenwich Island](/source/Greenwich_Island) across [McFarlane Strait](/source/McFarlane_Strait). In association with the names of nineteenth century sealers in this area, it was named by the [UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee](/source/UK_Antarctic_Place-Names_Committee) after Captain [Robert Inott](/source/Robert_Inott), Master of the American sealing ship *Samuel* (after which [Samuel Peak](/source/Samuel_Peak) was named) from [Nantucket](/source/Nantucket), who visited the South Shetland Islands in 1820–21.[1]
