It runs for about {{convert|0.34|miles}} from Warner Street in the west to [Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard](/source/Martin_Luther_King_Jr._Boulevard_(Savannah)) (part of [State Route 25](/source/Georgia_State_Route_25)) in the east. It is immediately to the south of the [Talmadge Memorial Bridge](/source/Talmadge_Memorial_Bridge). In 2022, [Savannah College of Art and Design](/source/Savannah_College_of_Art_and_Design) (SCAD) announced it was building a 17-story, 800-bed [dormitory](/source/dormitory) on Indian Street, to be completed by the fall of 2023.
