The **Independent Current Coalition** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): تيار الاستقلال, [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Arabic): *Tayyar al-Istiqlal*) was an alliance of political parties contesting the [2014 Egyptian parliamentary election](/source/Egyptian_parliamentary_election%2C_2014) in a joint list with the [Egyptian Front](/source/Egyptian_Front), called *[Egypt](/source/Egypt_(electoral_coalition))*.

## History

The alliance was established on 15 June 2014[1] by the [Independent Party Current](/source/Independent_Party_Current),[3] which has been active since December 2012.[4] The alliance was also called the Supporting the President coalition.[3] The general coordinator of the alliance was Hamdy al-Fakharany.[5] The coalition was made up of 36 parties.[6]
