# Incapachata

**Incapachata** (possibly from [Aymara](/source/Aymara_language) and [Quechua](/source/Quechua_language) *Inka* [Inca](/source/Inca_Empire), *apachita* the place of transit of an important pass in the principal routes of the [Andes](/source/Andes); a stone cairn, a little pile of rocks built along the trail in the high mountains)[1][2] is a mountain in the north of the Barroso mountain range in the [Andes](/source/Andes) of southern [Peru](/source/Peru), about 5,000 m (16,000 ft) high. It is situated in the [Tacna Region](/source/Tacna_Region), [Tarata Province](/source/Tarata_Province), [Tarata District](/source/Tarata_District). It lies northeast of [Vilaucarane](/source/Vilaucarane) and south of [Antajave](/source/Antajave).[3]
