# Inba, Chiba

**Inba** (印旛村, *Inba-mura*) was a [village](/source/List_of_villages_in_Japan) located in [Inba District](/source/Inba_District,_Chiba), [Chiba Prefecture](/source/Chiba_Prefecture), [Japan](/source/Japan).

## History

Inba Village was created on March 10, 1955 through the merger of Rokugo and Munakata Villages. The development of [Chiba New Town](/source/Chiba_New_Town) greatly accelerated the development of the village, which became a [bedroom community](/source/Bedroom_community) for [Tokyo](/source/Tokyo).

## Geography

As of February 2011, the village had an estimated population of 13,731 and a [population density](/source/Population_density) of 295 persons per km2. The total area was 46.57 km2. [Lake Inba](/source/Lake_Inba) is located next to it.

On March 23, 2010, Inba, along with the village of [Motono](/source/Motono,_Chiba) (also from [Inba District](/source/Inba_District,_Chiba)), [was merged](/source/Municipal_mergers_and_dissolutions_in_Japan) into the expanded city of [Inzai](/source/Inzai,_Chiba).
