# Ilpe

**Ilpe** is a river of [North Rhine-Westphalia](/source/North_Rhine-Westphalia), [Germany](/source/Germany).[1] The source of the Ilpe is near the town of [Altenilpe](/source/Altenilpe) in the mountainous [Sauerland](/source/Sauerland) region, at an elevation of approximately 511 m. The river flows primarily in a northwestern direction[citation needed] on its 8.3 km course into the [Wenne](/source/Wenne) in [Bremke](/source/Bremke_(Eslohe)).[1]
