**Ilian Iliev Evtimov** ([Bulgarian](/source/Bulgarian_language): Илиян Евтимов; born April 28, 1983) is a Bulgarian-French professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) player for [Cholet](/source/Cholet_Basket) of the French [Pro A](/source/LNB_Pro_A). He is a 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m) [power forward](/source/Power_forward_(basketball)).[1]

## College career

Evtimov played [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) in the United States at [NCAA Division I](/source/NCAA_Division_I) school [North Carolina State University](/source/North_Carolina_State_University), where he played with the [NC State Wolfpack](/source/NC_State_Wolfpack_men's_basketball), from 2001 to 2006.

## Professional career

Evtimov signed his first professional contract with [Virtus Bologna](/source/Virtus_Bologna) in 2006 [2] and joined the [Deutsche Bank Skyliners](/source/Deutsche_Bank_Skyliners) for the 2007-08 season.[3] Starting from 2010, Evtimov played for [Élan Chalon](/source/%C3%89lan_Chalon) and with the club he won the [Pro A](/source/LNB_Pro_A) in 2012. He also won the [French Basketball Cup](/source/French_Basketball_Cup) in 2011 and 2012, while in the last Cup victory he was named [French Basketball Cup Final MVP](/source/French_Basketball_Cup_Final_MVP).[4]

On June 9, 2016, Evtimov signed with [Cholet Basket](/source/Cholet_Basket).[5]

## French national team

Evtimov played with the [French U22 national team](/source/French_national_basketball_team) at the [2002 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship](/source/2002_FIBA_Europe_Under-20_Championship), where he won a bronze medal.

## Personal

A French national since 1995, Ilian is the youngest son of Bulgarian basketball star [Ilia Evtimov](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ilia_Evtimov&action=edit&redlink=1) [[fr](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilia_Evtimov)] (who relocated the family to France in the early 1990s during his playing career) and the brother of professional Euroleague player [Vassil Evtimov](/source/Vassil_Evtimov).
