# Igor Rogov

**Igor Ivanovich Rogov** ([Kazakh](/source/Kazakh_language) and [Russian](/source/Russian_language): Игорь Иванович Рогов; born 17 May 1950) is a Kazakh lawyer, former [Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan](/source/Ministry_of_Justice_(Kazakhstan)) and former Chairman of the [Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan](/source/Constitutional_Council_of_Kazakhstan).[1] Born in [Baku](/source/Baku), Rogov is of [Russian](/source/Russians_in_Kazakhstan) descent and has degrees in jurisprudence and criminology. He has worked in academia. In 2000, he became the Minister of Justice for Kazakhstan, the position he held until 2002.
